Steel & Heels

STEEL & HEELS
Quite cool what you can capture if you look down, given a nice effect using the Helga filter in Camera Bag.

Underground

UNDERGROUND
Funky light display on the walls of the Underground club in the basement of the Oxford Hotel, Oxford St.

I celebrated the one hundreth image this year by taking these 9 shots in the one day and creating the 100 montage.

Foggy Morn

FOGGY MORN
Fog descended on Sydney one morning, causing this overpass to disappear into the mist.

365:2010 – March Highlights

So that’s month number 3 finished and here are my favourite images from 365:2010 in March:

Pink Star

PINK STAR
Nice little graphic image painted on the front of a store in Surry Hills

Sunday Morning Swim

SUNDAY MORNING SWIM
When I can on a Sunday morning I visit the Andrew (Boy) Charlton pool in the domain and do a few lengths. The image effect was created using the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.

UFO

UFO
The Hipstamatic app transforms a light fitting at work into a flying saucer.

Luna Lights

LUNA LIGHTS
Took this image after a work party over at Luna Park, used the Helga filter from the Camera Bag app to give it a flatter tonal quality and make the lights stand out.

Silver Sculpture

SILVER SCULPTURE
Another image from a visit to Boy Charlton where this sculpture features on the harbour shoreline. Converted using the PSMobile app.

365:2010 – February Highlights

Catch up post number two, it got a bit tougher to get the inspiration on some days in the second month which was a bit of a worry as there’s 10 more to go! However every day I still managed to find something to photograph. Here are my favourite images from 365:2010 in Feb:

Stir Stick Flower

STIR STICK FLOWERS
This collection of drink sticks looked like some blossoming wooden flower, taken at work with my iPhone.

Pastels

PASTELS
Beautifully colourful range of pastels on display in an art store, taken with my iPhone.

Heels

HEELS
Loved the lighting and that they’re all heading in a different direction with the heel of their back leg off the floor, taken with my iPhone and converted using PS Mobile.

Cold

COLD
Picture of the cold tap on my bathroom sink, taken with my Panasonic Lumix FX38 and enhanced in Photoshop CS3

365:2010 – January Highlights

So I’m now playing catchup a bit as I’m already into the 76th day of 365:2010. For those that don’t know it’s the simple premise of taking a photo every day, though the rules I have imposed on myself is that the image must have been taken and uploaded on the date,  no using old images allowed! So here are my favourite images from January:

Absolut Sequins

ABSOLUT SEQUINS
Still life taken indoors with a simple table lamp and my Sony DSLR

Lamp Shadows

LAMP SHADOWS
Simple photo of a floor lamp in my lounge, tinted and softened using the PS Mobile iPhone app

Cages in the Sky

CAGES IN THE SKY
A laneway art installation of George St, taken with my iPhone

Criss Cross Clouds

CRISS CROSS CLOUDS
Reflection of the sky in the new Macquarie Building down in the King St Wharf area, taken with my iPhone.

Dec 29 2009

No Smiling….and plans for 2010

No Smiling

With it being Christmas ‘n’ all I though this adapated ‘No Stopping’ sign seemed very appropriate, good on those that take the infrastructure of our regulated world and shove two fingers up at them.

On another note, coming in 2010 is my attempt at the daily photo concept; 365:2010. I will be posting a photo to my Flickr account every day, the rule is that the image must have been taken by me on that particular day. Being one of the iPhone owning masses I’ll be taking advantage of the Flickr app.

Then once a month I’ll be posting my favourite images to this blog. I think it’ll be a challenge to find something interesting every day, but then again does it have to be ‘interesting’, can it just be every day, can it just illustrate a part of my daily life…guess I’ll find out soon enough.
