2010
Catch up post number two, it got a bit tougher to get the inspiration on some days in the second month which was a bit of a worry as there’s 10 more to go! However every day I still managed to find something to photograph. Here are my favourite images from 365:2010 in Feb:

STIR STICK FLOWERS
This collection of drink sticks looked like some blossoming wooden flower, taken at work with my iPhone.

PASTELS
Beautifully colourful range of pastels on display in an art store, taken with my iPhone.

HEELS
Loved the lighting and that they’re all heading in a different direction with the heel of their back leg off the floor, taken with my iPhone and converted using PS Mobile.

COLD
Picture of the cold tap on my bathroom sink, taken with my Panasonic Lumix FX38 and enhanced in Photoshop CS3

I got the chance to take some photos of a friend of mine the other weekend. Marc has a great body and is confident enough to get naked in front of the camera. The photos were taken with natural light, a spot lamp and another, secret weapon which produced some great colour images.
It’s the first time I’ve done a photoshoot like this in years and hope to do more in the future, check out the full set at Flickr. If you’re in the Sydney area and are interested in me taking images of you just contact me.

Well more bathroom sink and shower…..anyway, last week I finished a course called ‘Camera Raw’ at the Australian Centre for Photography, Paddington, Sydney. It was a 5 week course explaining how to work with raw files and Photoshop’s Camera Raw plugin. Before starting the course I was shooting RAW+JPG out of the camera and pretty much never touched the RAW files as I didn’t have the faintest idea what to do with them.
5 weeks later and I’m only shooting RAW and have discovered the delights of using Bridge and Camera Raw to process the files. So what’s that got to do with a bathroom murder? The image above is from a series I took for the course and it’s the one I’ve selected for the end of term exhibition, it will be printed on A2 metallic paper so should look pretty cool. You can find the whole series on flickr.
